How will serving leaders change the future of leadership? Will 2020 change the way we lead forever? Can serving leadership still work in a world with so many changes occurring in our communities?
I’m back. It’s a long story. What happened confirmed for me an increasing commitment to empowering serving leaders today and into the future. Over 2019, I’ve invested time in becoming a better student and then becoming a better teacher.
The journey provided me with an opportunity to have influence in our communities by helping others leverage their gifts, strengths, and life experiences in a more impactful way. I can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with you, the reader, and, more importantly, the person who is committed to making a difference in the world in the next stage our lives together.
What I’ve learned allows me to help serving leaders achieve their dreams. What I learned helps you live a life filled with clarity, passion, and purpose. These qualities help serving leaders make a difference in our world in 2020 and beyond
I invested time in learning how to provide serving leaders with a platform that transforms their lives and ours. Its a road to self-discovery. I’ve invested more time in communities than I have in my entire career. I have a great set of notes to share that should help us grow in 2020 and beyond. Now let’s get back to work.
2020 going to be a challenging year for serving leaders. It’s going to take significant energy and resolve to feel upbeat as we respond to different media storms that challenge how we see ourselves and others. Its never easy to serve others during a time of constant upheaval, but we must.
A healthy solution for this is to spend more time with others who have a similar mission, vison, and purpose. You need to turn off the outside world through more empowering activities such as meditation and prayer.
I do not believe the narrative will change much over the coming year.
2020 will be a year where many leaders become more centered on what’s important in life. Serving leaders need to provide a bridge to the future as many of your values will be challenged and attacked.
Many serving leaders are retiring from their work. Over 350,000 baby boomer leaders are retiring between now and the end of 2020. They become a force for good by reigniting their passions for many different things. They begin investing their hard-earned money in many different projects including charities, grandchildren, and travel. The bigger investment they make is teaching us how to live and have impact on our communities.
In 2020 we start to experience a breakdown of many critical services as many of the organizations society has put in place are overrun by the increasing needs of healthcare and community services driven by these increasing numbers of retired boomers.
The positive side of this is many people who are nearing or in retirement can find opportunities to serve others in new careers. They can leverage what they learned in a lifetime to help others during this time of change.
To retiring serving leader boomers, what does your next chapter look like? Where would you like to invest your life in your communities? When I talk with retiring boomers I’ve heard as many different paths are there are people. What do you want to do?
In 2020, new technologies make almost anything you can dream a possibility. What do you dream about? How will you take on the next challenge in your life? What’s amazing is how much time you have to accomplish your next set of goals. This generation of retirees has almost 20 years to get things done. Only then might you slowdown. You are only limited by your vision of what is possible.
Here’s the final question I ask as you look to the year 2020. Wat would you do if you could not fail?
My plans for 2020 are to empower you with the tools you need to change the world. I plan to share new ideas, tips, and strategies that allow you have the impact you always knew you could have. Stick around, we are going to change the world together! I can’t wait to share this journey with you.
Let’s get ready to transform our communities again. Saddle up.
See you next week where we start planning for 2020 and beyond.
